Ronneal Muhammad, known on the stepping dance scene as "Moe", is taking this unique to Chicago dance trend across the country with his one of a kind online lessons released through Moe's company, Learn2Step, Inc., breaks "stepping" down to the basics. It is a private lesson online, in which Moe, known as a "heavy hitter" on the "steppers" scene, guarantees to prepare you to become a smooth "stepper."

Born December 15, 1971 in Buffalo, New York, to Brenda and Gary Moore, Moe was a typical military brat, who moved about every three years. In 1988 his family settled at the Great Lakes Naval Station, in Illinois, and Moe was able to finish his last two years of high school at North Chicago Community High. After graduating in the class of "89," Moe joined the Illinois National Guard and also attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
After leaving UIC, Moe kept in touch with his college sweet heart, Ms. Robin Cobb. While making plans to marry, they decided to go out to a dance club. Moe, who frequented certain clubs in Chicago, suggested they go "stepping." He watched a couple performing the dance on one occasion and thought "stepping" was smooth and sophisticated. At that moment, Moe decided he wanted to learn how to "step." Moe took his first "stepping" class in January 1999 after a co-worker informed him that formal classes were offered for those wanting to learn the dance. Moe wanted his first dance to be stepping at his wedding so he took the class. Now even his daughter Raven Skye Muhammad knows her basics at the age of 5.

Moe later discovered that "stepping" wasn't simply a dance but a way of life. This style of dance has been around for years in Chicago, with Radio DJ's such as the legendary Herb Kent at the forefront of the movement, and artists such as R&B crooners R. Kelly and Gerald Levert with new releases in the classic "steppers" vein. Moe says “In Chicago that as a child you learn how to crawl, walk, then "step"! Moe was taught by Chicago's finest "steppers," to whom he refers as the "heavy hitters." Although he was not born in Chicago, Moe, too, is a natural "stepper."

After learning the fundamentals and refining his own "stepping" style, Moe decided to teach this dance form. During his first year of teaching, one of his students won in the beginners' category of "The World's Largest Steppers Competition." The following year, a pair of his students won again. Moe has a great influence on the steppers scene today. Besides his love for the dance form, another reason Moe began to teach was his desire to give people an opportunity to learn a smooth style of "stepping". Today, Moe teaches weekly classes throughout the "Windy City" of Chicago and its suburbs and has taught in numerous other cities, including Milwaukee, New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Greensboro, Raleigh, Montgomery, Niagara Falls and wherever Smooth Jazz (a term coined by WSRB/Soul 106.3 morning-drive DJ Denise Jordan-Walker) and R&B music are played. Upcoming teaching venues include far away places such as Jamaica and Europe. To schedule classes in your city, contact Moe via email at Learn2step@gmail.com or by phone at (312) 446-9822.

He was approached by Pete Frazier, CEO of "The Majestic Gents," with the idea for Moe to become a member of "Majestic Gents," one of the largest "Steppers Clubs" in the country.

L2S, online lessons was created to give individuals an opportunity to stay current with the new variations of turns and footwork that are being created on a weekly basis. No more excuses for not learning this smooth style of dancing. If you can’t come to Chicago, let Chicago come to you! Just login! www.learn2steptv.com
